Ace Cruz was raised in the heart of Los Angeles, California, and proudly holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California Film School. Ace began his acting career at age nineteen, starting in theater before
being quickly noticed by Alfie Lorenzo, resulting in a contract with Viva Films from 1992 to1996.
In 1996, Ace decided to spread his wings by founding Spirit Films, and shot his first film,
Last Chance, entirely with his own money. Now a veteran of twenty years in Hollywood as actor, director,producer and writer, Ace understands
filmmaking from concept, to production, and through to marketing and distribution.
Ace is partnered with many Hollywood heavyweights such as editor Dennis Virkler
(The Wolfman, The Fugitive, The Hunt For Red
October), and actor Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vols. 1 & 2, Die Another Day),
also with whom Ace shares the development company, Four Diamonds.
Bruce’s exposure to cameras at a very early age, helped him to see many aspects that can create the great results in the images he captures. He virtually lives and breathes photography as his eyes look at his environment with a visual curiosity wherever he goes. He often has said how he feels incomplete when leaving home out without a camera, therefore, he often prefers to be a photographer during his leisure as well.
Bruce has enjoyed rotating between still photography, motion picture and video productions. He feels this variety of work has benefitted his style in a reciprocal way. His motion picture experience tends to give his still photography a cinematic look. His still photography background has influenced his movie compositions to take on the quality of a great photograph.
